It is with great satisfaction that we receive the challenge to evaluate the II National Plan of Action for the Implementation of the Resolution of the United Nations Security Council, nº 1325 (2000) about about Women, Peace and Security (2014-2018).
Logframe has always had a great and central concern in our action with equality and gender issues, and therefore this challenge only increases the responsibility of, with our work in the evaluation area, contribute to fairest society and where there is effective equality.
The Resolution of the United Nations Security Council n.o 1325 (2000) about Women, Peace and Security, approved on October 31, 2000, warns of the unequal impact of armed conflict on women and men, appealing for greater participation of women and the integration of the gender equality dimension in the prevention, management and resolution of armed conflicts.
This perspective should, according to the same resolution, have full integration not only in countries in armed conflict (or in the process of recovering from it), framing, in this case, all stages of the peace building process, but also in countries in peaceful situation.
The development of national plans of action, aiming to ensuring the integration of the gender dimension in diplomatic, military, security, justice and development for cooperation activities, is an effective instrument for achieving the objectives of the resolution, thus constituting an obligation of the Member States, regardless of their internal situation.
It is also important to reinforce training about human rights training, international humanitarian law, gender equality and violence against women, girls and chicks, including sexual violence and gender violence, namely with personnel of the military, of the security forces and civilians seconded to missions for the construction and maintenance of international peace and security, and for emergency and crisis management scenarios.
